Thethi Mountains, Albania

A few years ago, I created this website after spending about a year total traveling around the Balkans and learning about its fascinating yet tumultuous history. Since then, I have explored most of Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Turkey, and the Caucasus region. I also have a YouTube and TikTok channel, so be sure and check those out as well!

The updated country pages include places of interest, cost of accommodation, and important eras and events throughout its history, and any other relevant information. Most places I mention I have personally visited, but a few are places I was unable to visit, largely due to lack of funding. At the top, you will also find travel stories and articles related to politics and history.

Maintaining all of these takes up time, so I am far behind on where I want to be with these projects. As a struggling freelancer, I spend a lot of time searching for work with not a lot of success, which means less time I have to create content, focus on investigative journalism, and secure interviews with powerful, unique, and influential people. If you are impressed, intrigued, or inspired, consider donating to my Patreon account. I am also open to sponsorships!

Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoy!

Tara Canyon, Montenegro

Montenegro is a beautiful country with a lot to offer. On a few of those days, I was up in the northern part of the country exploring the forests filled with black pine trees and the enormous Tara Canyon. I walked past several old ladies selling various forest products, and one of them had some delicious pine tree honey available.

Pictured above is the ancient city of Dubrovnik. There is scant evidence to support this claim, but it is said that Dubrovnik was the first country to recognize the United States as an independent country as early as 1776, back when it was called the Republic of Ragusa. The entire country is one big travel destination, and its coastline is comparable to the beauty of the American state of Oregon.
